Ships Have Sailed are a duo from Los Angeles with some electronica leanings. SHS Op for more soulful songs than 
straight up manic dance floor edm. These songs reflect on longing and optimism. Lucious, sugary sweet and hopeful, these songs yearn for more. The sense of restrained desire Will Carpenter and Daniel Hange, serve up is palpable. “Drive” and “Summertime” are both stand-out tracks. “Drive” opens tastefully, quietly; while the vocals delicate delivery speaks of an unsatisfied emotional craving.
The guitar on “Boomerang” cuts angularly, before diving headlong into body of the song. The guitars deft refrain becoming an audio touchstone. Closing out with “Imaginary Friend” this 11 song collection flits along lightly, good-naturedly.
